Media Should Publish News rather than manufacturing it

What is media??It is basically a means of communication to deliver information. But is our media serving as an irreproachable outlet of news? Most of us are aware of media bias but we don't find it serious and consequential. So today I'll talk about media bias and its threat to democracy.

In today's social structure media plays a vital role to form image about any political and social issue.Mass media has crucial influence on public when it narrates and provides reliable information about issues like environment, politics, homosexuality and religion. A large portion of our society considers media as a potent source of information and depends on it to form an opinion. consequently it becomes vitally important for media to provide scrutinised, fair , ethical and honest news to its audience.

But it is our misfortune that media in today's scenerio has failed to serve as an honest outlet of information rather it has mastered the art of providing prejudiced news for its selfish motives.

Media has a significant role in political matters because it has the power to either criticise a candidate or make his/her image amiable. People largely make their political opinion based on the media coverage they watch. But media affects  public's welfare by presenting people that side of story which they want them to see and agree upon.

It is perceived many times even if there are many issues media will focus on the one which it considers more important or favouring a propaganda. 

Print media also plays an essential role in our lives and it should be transparent , fair, responsible to citizens and independent from political ideologies.

I would like to conclude my words by saying that ultimately it's our responsibility to choose wisely between right and wrong. We must know to distinguish the authentic news from unreliable ones. Also we need some fearless journalists who are keen to provide people with unbiased news so that media can act as a transparent medium inspite of one way mirror.
